Using Evaluation to Enhance Programs: Conducting Formative and Summative Evaluations

I found this chapter to be very informative. I agree that Formative evaluation is important. If you are not also the SME then you may not be getting the instruction across properly. You may also not be getting the message across to the target audience. I also had not previously considered the need of addressing evaluations towards specific audiences. I can especially see the importance of public relations reports. It is often very important to acquire funding for programs.

I wish we had more time to devote to calculating the financial end of Instructional Design. I have no concept of the expenses of development, implementations and operation. I see the value of Instructional Cost Index, but it is not useful without financial knowledge. I also would have liked to see finished reports to get a better idea of how they look and read.
